A Major Breakthrough in Indonesia

PT Intracopenta, Mahindra Tractors’ distributor in Indonesia, received a major breakthrough in the palm oil plantations sector, when it secured an order for the supply of first batch of tractors to Pt. Hindoli, which is part of the Cargill Group, one of the leading producers of palm oil in Indonesia. A team from PT Intracopenta, led by Mr. Haidir, Product Manager, visited the PT Hindoli Seipelepah Estate in May 2013 and made a presentation on Mahindra and Pt Intracopenta for the management and staff there. This was followed by a product presentation and field demonstration session on the 8000 4 WD. To further develop customer confidence, a Mahindra 8000 4 WD trial unit was given to the Pt Hindoli Group for use for a month. It was used to haul palm fruit in 10-ton and 12-ton bins. After this first-hand experience of the superior performance of the Mahindra 8000 4 WD in their plantations, the Hindoli Group placed an order
for 10 tractors as part of their first offtake. “We hope to use this company as the flag carrier and reference point for other companies in the palm oil industry,” said Mr. Jimmy Halim, Director, Pt Intracopenta. “As we have repeatedly said, the performance of Mahindra tractors in the field is terrific and many customers are repeat buyers. With continuous support from Mahindra and opportunities such as these, we are confident of achieving increased results.”
