Celebrating a million harvests.
Across the world.
An undisputed leader in the Indian tractor market for 23 successive years, Mahindra Tractors is a division of a US$ 6 billion conglomerate, Mahindra. We began as a joint venture with International Harvester. With this began a new era in power, control, and reliability in farm equipment manufacturing. With the largest manufacturing set up in India, today we are looked up as one of the big-wigs in the global tractor market. In fact, all this has helped us to earn a name as the first tractor company in the world to win the coveted Deming prize for Total Quality Management.
Our tractors have traveled to the four corners of the world. Wherever they went, they’ve proved to be nothing less than the best. Explaining why they are in such demand all across United States, Australia, Chile, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Iran, Syria and Africa.
In the US market, our subsidiary company, Mahindra USA, sells more than 10,000 tractors annually. With the help of its B nationwide network of 270 dealers, total product support and prompt after sales service. So no matter what, every tractor sold keeps running for hours. Without a break or a breakdown.
Our next big leap took us past the Great Wall of China. We acquired Jiangling Motor Co., to form Mahindra China Tractor Company Ltd. (MCTCL). At present, MCTCL has an annual production capacity of 8000 tractors. Our 18-35 HP tractors manufactured here cater to the domestic and overseas markets too. The flip side is the company also imports from India. Making Mahindra’s 45-70 HPtractors available to the Chinese farmer.
Look down under and you will surely see a Mahindra toiling in the Australian farms. Designed and manufactured at our base, Mahindra Australia, these tractors are sold throughout Australia and New Zealand. Farmers there can choose a machine to suit their farming needs the best. Out of a line of 2WD and 4WD compact tractors (20-30 HP range) and utility models (45-75 HP range) along with their attachments, like loaders and mowers. Which can be put to multiple uses with utmost reliability and ease.
Our tractors were then eastward bound. We entered the European continent by launching Mahindra tractors at the Novi Sad fair, May 2005. Today, we have a significant presence not only in Serbia, but also in Montenegro and Macedonia, Spain.
Now we are on a new mission. To tap the emerging African tractor market. For which we have set up assembly plants at Mali, Chad, Gambia and Nigeria. So our brand of red tractors will soon be found in distant Sudan, Kenya and Cambia too. And sooner rather than later in the whole of the African continent.
